Week Six
Part 1: My team and I discussed possible capstone ideas through Discord. From my ideas, my teammates enjoyed an app for kids to enjoy learning computer science. It would be great for students to learn about programming and see the possibilities of what they can make with it. One of the ideas that stood out to me was an app to remind people of their housework or personal projects. I can be very forgetful, and this app can help me finish tasks that need to be done at home. Another idea that stood out to me was a smart irrigation system that factors in the necessity to use less water when farming using IoT. It is always great to use less water whenever we can to preserve what we have.
Part 2: For the final presentation project, we came to the conclusion that we will be doing about two slides each and go over it together to see if it needs anything else. Besides the project, in this module, I took a look into how to make a cover letter and resume. There was plenty of information to go over to look at how to make a good resume and what recruiters look for when applying. I also made an ILP Portfolio website shell through Weebly. Additionally, to prepare for the next class we looked into Java. However, I have experience with Java through Code Academy. In this module, I had our weekly survey screenshot and my answers from CollabU Modules 8 and 9 that needed to be turned in. Lastly, we had a quiz and another assignment using AI.
