Almost There!

Part 1: My team and I have been communicating through Discord about our final research video project. We also have two separate Google slides to which we contribute. We each get some slides and with those slides, we have to do a voiceover. Monica and Flavio are the ones who will convert the Google slides into a YouTube video. If there is a large, more time-consuming, project in the future I think what will work better is to probably meet up with the team more than once a week. This will give us the chance to go over the project, ask questions, and collaborate more in detail. Another way would be to meet up in person, if we all are able to. Part 2: In the PowerPoint tips, I learned what not to put on your PowerPoint. Too much of one thing can be harmful in your PowerPoint, as it won't get the audience's attention. It was also helpful to know to add visual aids as it can help. I watched For Future AI, the prompt is You by Rajeev Ronanki and I found the concepts he provide...

Week Six

Part 1:  My team and I discussed possible capstone ideas through Discord. From my ideas, my teammates enjoyed an app for kids to enjoy learning computer science. It would be great for students to learn about programming and see the possibilities of what they can make with it. One of the ideas that stood out to me was an app to remind people of their housework or personal projects. I can be very forgetful, and this app can help me finish tasks that need to be done at home. Another idea that stood out to me was a smart irrigation system that factors in the necessity to use less water when farming using IoT. It is always great to use less water whenever we can to preserve what we have. Part 2: For the final presentation project, we came to the conclusion that we will be doing about two slides each and go over it together to see if it needs anything else. Besides the project, in this module, I took a look into how to make a cover letter and resume. There was plenty of information...

Industry Expert Interview

Post-Interview Reflection Report For my Industry expert interview assignment, I am interviewing Ashley Garcia, my youngest and only sister. I am so proud of what she has accomplished, and she has been my motivation during my education journey. She graduated a year earlier from Greenfield High School then she got awarded a full scholarship to attend the CSin3 program. The CSin3 cohort program is offered by Hartnell College and California State University Monterey Bay. It helps students receive their bachelor’s degree in computer science  within 3 years. Therefore, a year after graduating high school, Ashley got her associate's degree from Hartnell College. Two years after that she received her bachelor’s degree in computer science from CSUMB. Ashley graduated from CSUMB in 2022 as a 20-year-old. She is a software engineer 1 at EBSCO Learning working as a front-end developer but can do other jobs in her position. During this interview, Ashley mentioned imposter...

Fifth Week

Part one: In the following links I commented on two of my fellow classmates. https://joshcsonline.blogspot.com/2025/02/computer-science-bs-journal-week-4.html https://khaaicsjournal.blogspot.com/2025/02/week-4.html Part two: Here are three Capstone project ideas I am considering. An app for kids to enjoy learning computer science A system that suggests good movies and shows An AI game for kids to enjoy learning math and reading Part three: During this week, my teammates and I have been working together to get three topics for our Video Project. We went with the use of AI to prevent cyberattacks, healthcare innovations, and Virtual Reality. I also finished my CollabU on Modules 6 and 7, along with a quiz about our argumentative essay. There are a few extra credit assignments that I am participating in. During this week, I am working with AI for the first time to analyze my stakeholders 2 for my Ethics argument essay.

Fourth Week

Part 1: One educational goal of mine is to receive As and Bs throughout my journey in this program. This aligns with my second educational goal, getting a 180 out of 200 on my Ethics Argument Essay in my CST 300 class. I want to accomplish this goal by getting help from others. During this class, I received an 84 out of 100 on my Industry Analysis essay. I wasn’t too far out but the Ethics argument essay will be difficult. My last educational goal is to get ahead of my assignments by managing my time. I am always busy studying, working, being with my family, and trying to leave time for myself. I spend over twenty hours trying to figure out or perfect assignments and reviewing them in the Modules. Part 2: My career goal that I can work on is making projects to start my portfolio. Starting this can help recruiters and myself to acknowledge the progress I will be making. Considering I will have more knowledge by the end of this program. I also want to learn new program languages and...
